A new type of leadership at CA Brive, with a board of directors and a board of directors that will notably include Julie Gayet

It was one of the logical consequences of the announcement of Ian Osborne’s entry as majority shareholder, revealed exclusively in our columns on August 29th: the establishment of a new internal organisation.

Following a general meeting of Brive Rugby SAS shareholders, held at the club last Saturday 1st October, the new way of running the CAB, with a Board of Directors and a Supervisory Board, was unanimously approved.

Julie Gayet is unanimous on the Board of Directors

The latter is headed by Simon Gillham, as vice-president Briviste Thierry Blandinières, managing director of the large InVivo group. And among the 16 other members of this committee is a personality named Julie Gayet, the actress and partner of the former President of the Republic, François Hollande.

“Julie is an ardent supporter who is very often present at the stadium. She was also, and above all, united on the council and will be a key ambassador for the club in circles where rugby doesn’t take place,” we say discreetly.

Another notable novelty is that of entrepreneur Arnaud Plas, based in New York. According to our information, he should invest in the club. There are also two members of the Vivendi board, Hervé Philippe and François Laroze, and of course Ian Osborne.

32.5% are held by Ian Osborne, 16% by Vivendi

The powerful English businessman also officially owns 32.5% of Brive Rugby, as announced during the shareholders’ meeting. Then follow Vivendi with 16% and Brive le Pack, which includes local and regional partners, with 8.25%.

In addition to the supervisory board, a management board has also been set up. The latter will be headed by Jacky Lintignat, former CEO of KPMG who served on the former Management Committee and the late Executive Committee. The general manager is Xavier Ric, who will be “the day-to-day operational boss”, we are told.

“This new organization enables, above all, a formalization and strengthening of the association. Internally, the future is stabilized because every shareholder or major sponsor is at our side in the long term,” we add in the hallways of the association.
