Games accessible to all at the Martinets level in Olivet

The new games for children installed in September on the Plaine des Martinets were inaugurated on Wednesday October 5th.

The culmination of a project led by Hayat EzzarhouniOlivetaine, mother of three children including little Louna, 5.5 years old, suffers from a very rare disease, Temple-Baraitser Syndrome.

“I used participatory budgeting to submit my project to City Hall and it worked,” she recalled. In France, we are lagging behind in terms of inclusion. When we went to the park, his brother and sister could enjoy the games, she couldn’t. It’s a heartthrob for a mother!”

A turnstile and a trampoline

Involved in the selection of the games and their implementation, Hayat was inspired by what the city of Arras (Pas-de-Calais) was doing. The company Aquarelle was entrusted with the implementation, which installed a wheelchair-accessible turnstile and trampoline. More modules have been added to the area, including a hut with a music wall, all on soft ground. A slightly uphill path is also planned.

“We are delighted to inaugurate this new playground, accessible to all. a wonderful project human“, underlined Cécile Adelle, deputy mayor. “We care about the development of children, of all children”, added Stéphane Bourdillault, deputy for children and families.

In April, two inclusive swings – with bird’s nest seat – were installed . One in Parc de l’Orme-Grenier, the other on Larry.” From now on, whenever the Games are renewed, the city will be careful to promote inclusion in this way. Especially since these playgrounds also help to sensitize children to live together.

More and more inclusive games in the Orleans agglomeration

In total, all new elements of the playground cost the municipality 72,272 euros, inclusive 48,500 euros for inclusive games(€35,000 from participatory budgeting).

It turns out that this particular gear costs more than the others. Their design is more complex and their installation requires more work and staff, said Jean-Charles Chauvin-Ricci, manager of the Aquarelle company, who also recalled that municipalities can benefit from subsidies.
