Paris Fashion Week: DOMINATE THE FASHION SCENE

On this October 4th, 2022, Paris finishes a marathon that started in New York and continued in London and Milan. Four weeks of fashion always in competition. But Paris sees itself in pole position despite New York’s rise. The “City of Light” regains its rank and all its appeal. Since September 26, the fever parades have followed one another without seeing each other at once.

The first day was dedicated to the shows, those of Weinsanto, the Americans of Vaquera or the Calzédonia evening at Palais Brongniart. The staging was terrific with the crème de la crème of fashion – Anna Dello Russo, Chiare Ferragni, Candela Novembre… The next day the program was full. The Botter label surprises with azure silhouettes, wave-washed denim and small fish prints. Victoria Tomas received her guests at Invalides train station. Central motif of the collection: the heart applied to the creations. At Dior, the decor was planted in the Tuileries garden. Renaissance atmosphere: Artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri was inspired by Catherine de Medici; It offers impressive silhouettes in baroque caves. The journey ends in Saint-Laurent: Anthony Vaccarello presented a collection for femme fatales: a new look with XXL shoulders, transparent dresses and pants that slide across the floor.

Nicolas di Felice provides his fourth show in Courrèges on “Day 3”. Fantasy, softness: a collection with feet in the sand, sunset dresses, denim jackets tied around the waist, hand-held shoes… Also softness with the Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen and her 26 delicate silhouettes in green, silver or sky blue…. Charles de Vilmorin, artistic director of Rochas, is more radical: ball gowns and frilly tops that thrive on tousled punks. On the other hand, the Balmain collection wants to be more responsible than ever: clothes made of paper or banana peel and a huge show with 100 silhouettes, closed by a surprise guest, the singer Cher.

An icon on the podium. The American singer landed in a futuristic jumpsuit, her face framed by her long brown hair, as her 1998 disco hit Strong Enough hit the Jean Bouin Stadium (Paris XVI), where the show was taking place.

The last day is dedicated to breathtaking creations: Chloé, Schiaparelli with her collection at the Place Vendôme headquarters, Isabel Marant, etc.

Paris has been hit hard: Spring-Summer 2023 Ready-to-Wear Fashion Week was an event.
